At Coup'Eco, we are committed to giving a voice to the professionals who use our equipment on a daily basis. Today, we are sharing the testimony of MBTP, a company founded in 2021, which has added a Coup’Eco P90 cutter.
Can you tell us how you became earthmoving professionals?
"We founded MBTP in 2021. There are two of us as co-managers. We met at secondary school, where we studied for a vocational baccalaureate in public works and handling machinery mechanics. We then did two years of work-study programmes to obtain our CACES (forklift licence) and heavy goods vehicle and super heavy goods vehicle licences, working for public works companies. We then worked in this sector for seven years before deciding to set up our own business."
What have been the highlights of your career?
‘The start of MBTP's creation remains a highlight, with the first meetings with banks, accountants and insurers. It was the launch of a new adventure and the pride of working for our own company. Our first memorable experiences were also linked to our first projects, which we had to learn to cost and carry out to the satisfaction of our customers.’
What does a typical day in the field look like?
"A typical day at MBTP is varied. We rent out lorries and machinery with drivers, transport inert materials, and also carry out work for private individuals, farmers and local authorities. We have two mini-excavators (3.5 tonnes and 6.5 tonnes), a wheeled excavator, two lorries, a tractor with a public works tipper and a bulldozer. In terms of equipment, we use tiltrotators, a brush cutter, a cutting grapple, a wood energy grapple and a Coup'Eco P90 cutter bar with two saws."
-> It was this versatility that led to the choice of the P90 cutter bar: a tool capable of expanding the range of services offered while integrating into an already diverse fleet.
How did you hear about Coup’Eco and what equipment do you use?
"We learned about Coup'Eco through a former boss who was already using a P90 mounted on an 8-tonne excavator. That's when we discovered the cutter bar. When we set up the company, we wanted to diversify our business by equipping our excavators with specific tools. So we chose a Coup'Eco P90 in order to offer mechanised pruning services to local authorities and farmers."
How has Coup'Eco equipment changed the way you work?
"Coup'Eco equipment has changed the way we work because it is very well designed, whether for replacing saws or for lubrication operations. All hydraulic components are protected from impact or tearing by branches. The cutter bar structure is particularly robust: we sometimes hold on to it when going down steep slopes, without ever noticing any weakness. Finally, the hydraulic flow of the P90 remains moderate in relation to its performance, which allows us to use it effectively on a 6.5-tonne excavator."
-> At Coup’Eco, we design our tools with one simple requirement in mind: they must be easy to maintain on a daily basis, protect the user from risks associated with impacts and branches, and remain sturdy even in the most difficult working conditions. This robustness and practicality are at the heart of our approach, because reliable, well-designed equipment makes all the difference in the field.
What advice would you give to a young person who wants to pursue this career?
‘First, we would advise them to be motivated. Even without experience, you can learn by getting involved. You also need to be diligent in maintaining the equipment and enjoy working outdoors, with all its constraints: rain, heat and sometimes difficult conditions.’
And today, what are your plans for the future?
‘Our current projects are the purchase of land and the construction of a building to house our future depot. We are also working on the acquisition of a small equipment and machinery rental company for green spaces, public works and private individuals.’
Conclusion
-> We would like to extend our warmest thanks to MBTP for sharing their story. Their journey perfectly illustrates the energy of young public works companies and the importance of reliable tools to support their development. The entire Coup'Eco team is proud to see the P90 contributing to their success and wishes them every success in their future projects.
